MONTY GUY stunned on eve of 54th GRAMMY AWARDS® Celebration

"I couldn't sleep at all last night" proclaims one melodic masterpiece in the archives. Personally, I was too stunned to be "tossing and turning". In fact, I slept badly and woke up drained. The excitement and anticipation of the 54th GRAMMY Awards® were mixed with shock and a sense of profound loss and regret. So, Whitney Houston departed the set last night after filling our hearts with hope; and the promise that " I Will Always Love You". Yeah buddy, she sang that one. I truly believed that tune; bought into it big time! Then there's the news that the Soul Train has left the station. Wow, Mr. Don Cornelius too? Ah geez. And the year started off with the bittersweet memories of the coruscating persona of Etta James. And please don't get me started about my friend Melvin Sparks Hassan again. In addition, allow me to add a truly outstanding orchestra leader named Edmundo Ros, whose ensemble created musical magic within the latin genre. Also missing from the set are Phoebe Snow, Alphonso "Fonce" Mizell, and Gene McDaniels. Quite frankly, the only thing I am sure of right now is that 'I am not digging it; and I'm not sure right now what "it" is. Still, I'm reeling from a sense of tremendous loss. I need tonight's 54th GRAMMY® celebration to rock my socks off! Yeah, GRAMMY®, I need you to"help me make it through the night". Today is gonna be tough; tonight, I don't even know. GRAMMY®, you got to "Rock Me Tonight" for all times sake. See you on the Red Carpet.
