The First round of voting for the 55th GRAMMY® is in full swing. This round ends October 31,2012. Identifying the GRAMMY® recipients is never easy. This season is no exception. As you know, there are 4 General Fields, and 29 Specialized Fields; for a total of 81 Categories. That means that 81 GRAMMY® trophies are available. The categories are wide and deep; with many new artists, established favorites, and new media offerings. For example, ROY has 831 entries; AOY has 756; SOY has 728; and Best New Artist has 405 entries. Adding to the selection excitement, the Best Pop Solo Performance category has 343 entries, Best Pop Vocal Album has 315, Best Improvisational Jazz Solo has 331, Best R&B Song has 159, and Best R&B Performance has 144. Only 72 more categories to name...but you get the picture. Of course fans and music aficionados are the winners. Clearly, there is no shortage of creative genius and performing talent; while production energy appears to be unceasing. We're moving full steam ahead to the Nominations announcement on December 5, 2012. Let the good times continue to roll!
