MONTY GUY Friends In Motion Douye' Theartist

Douye' is a singer and composer. While waiting to receive her new CD entitled "So Much Love", we decided to experience the electronic version. The listening adventure started with the enchanting flamenco guitar styling which introduced the moderate tempo song "Dance With You". An outstanding feature of the sound is the lush embellishment provided by the smooth, blossoming supporting vocals which accompany Douye's mellifluous phrasing; an element which is artfully interspersed throughout the song collection. The wonderful ballad of reminiscence entitled "Golden Days" showcases a sincere and reflective chanteuse in action; supported most admirably with the delightful trumpet styling of Rick Braun. "Life Is Good", sings Douye'. This track is a gem; an exhilarating feel good moment, featuring Eric Marienthal on saxophone. Again, the supporting vocals are outstanding; while the musical ensemble displays the aplomb of excellent execution and craftsmanship. The track "So Much Love" is a solid moderate tempo piece with dance possibilities, created to honor the great musician Fela Kuti. The band performs well, while Douye' complements the piece with sufficent lyrical expression to convey the sentiment of sincere affections flowing from the heart. The ballad entitled "Through It All" is short, sweet, and elegant; a wonderfully delivered vocal rendition; allowing the singer to display a multifaceted aspect of her vocal character. Another jewel of our choosing is entitled "With You", a very fine composition that provides room in the arrangement to feature the lead vocalist, the supporting voices, and, especially. the accompanying musicians. This is a very mellow, easy listening AC piece that features the craftwork of Eric Marienthal on saxophone. It's easy to choose another enjoyable song on Douye's new CD "So Much Love". For example, "Writing On The wall" is an interesting creation that shows the artist's desire to present quality in craft work, variety in song structure, and that wonderful vocal coloring throughout the CD collection. The sound engineering effort served the musical element well, by contributing clear, smooth tones; with a gentle caressing presence represented by good sound balance in the mix. It is a good thing that we did not wait longer to enjoy the adventure of listening to Douye'; after all, as she states with such vivacity, "Life Is Good"!
