Friends In Motion Ciro Hurtado

Ciro Hurtado is an excellent composer and an outstanding guitarist! His fabulous new CD is entitled "Ayahuasca Dreams". It is one of the highlights of the 57th GRAMMY AWARDS CELEBRATION. Ciro reminded me that it is both right and proper to face one's fears and trepidations, as a result for exercising courage may include wonderous surprise, joy, inspiration, and opportunity for growth. As I contemplated Ciro's CD "Ayahuasca Dreams", my reluctance to "dive in" only postponed these new glorious moments of pleasure, development, and personal enrichment. Today, I am pleased to have found the courage to experience and enjoy Ciro Hurtado's "Ayahuasca Dreams". Ciro introduced his presentation of "Ayahuasca Dreams" with a bold and exciting tone of adventure entitled "Peru". As a well rounded music creator, Ciro then offered the song "Andean Blues"; featuring acoustic guitar and organ; an outstanding blues flavored piece. "Flor De Aleli", with its vocal element is a remarkably fluid blend of instrumentation, lyrics, and voice. "Feliz" just sounded happy to me. Ciro has definitely positioned himself as a great guitarist on the uptempo track entitled "Una Paloma"; and as appreciative fans often exclaim, "cat can play"! Then Ciro presented a remembrance of one of my heroes, the great Olympics sprinting star Wilma Rudolph, by way of a track entitled "Too Young, Too Soon". The CD is rounded off, quite elegantly, with an additional touch of steel pan tones in "Physician Poet"; to recall the noteworthy contributions of physician Dr. Toni Yancey. Once again, Ciro's guitar artistry is superb; while the flute contribution of Cindy Harding elevates the listening pleasure of this piece. Ciro Hurtado's new CD work, "Ayahuasca Dreams" is an exciting, elevating, and fulfilling listening experience; that's full of meaningful surprises. After the first exposure to this CD, the desire to listen repeatedly is guaranteed; as is the inclusion of this CD in all music playlists that may boast of presenting substance, quality, and excellent musicianship.
