55th GRAMMY® Awards Selected Highlights

The show sparkled with uptempo energy, excellence of musicianship, and song style versatility. Omar Akram received a GRAMMY® for his New Age Album "Echoes Of Love". Perennial favorite Chick Corea was honored with a trophy for his Instrumental Composition "Mozart Goes Dancing". Seasoned pop music fans are elated that Sir Paul McCartney continues to be appreciated; his "Kisses On The Bottom" work was recognized as a best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Alisha Keys and Maroon 5 ignited the 55th GRAMMY® stage with their performance; while Esperanza Spaulding continues to display outstanding talent with her 'best' Jazz Vocal Album entitled "Radio Music Society". Pandit Ravi Shankar received his GRAMMY® in the World Music Album category for his work project called "The Living Room Sessions Part 1". In addition to the wonderful tribute to Bob Marley passionately delivered by Rihanna, Sting, and Bruno Mars, the Best Reggae Recording GRAMMY® went to Jimmy Cliff for his project "Rebirth". Also, we want to present the 'Voice Of The Night' Award to Bruno Mars who delivered with smooth conviction and sonorous excellence. The outfit of the night award goes to Katy Perry. The Black Keys presented an exciting and energetic performance and took home a GRAMMY® award for "Lonely Boy". We were delighted, as usual, to see the irrepressibly creative, yet dignified Maestro, Prince. The 55th GRAMMY® Celebration culminated with a high octane finale by Master Of Ceremonies LL Cool J with his awesome ensemble stating WHADDUP! The Recording Academy® delivered, once again, with excellence. Preparations for the 56th GRAMMY® showcase starts tomorrow. We wish the Academy well with the challenge of improving upon itself for next year's celebration.
