The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra (SNJO) with Tommy Smith, Saxophone/Director. The SNJO recently released its newest CD collection entitled "American Adventure". The CD features fresh interpretations of compositions by Marcus Miller, Charles Mingus, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, Chick Corea, and Richie Belrach. Fans of orchestrated jazz works will most likely recall the sound presentations of Gil Evans and Maestro Miles Davis while listening to SNJO. Yet, this ensemble introduces fresh, polished, and exciting elements to its work which elevates the orchestrated jazz artform; while in no way diminishing the performance and achievement efforts of earlier artistic musicianship within the genre.The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra is fabulous!
