Roberta Piket is a well regarded pianist and composer. Her new CD is called SOLO; it is her ninth album release. This new CD is being featured in the Best Instrumental Jazz Album category in the 55th GRAMMY® celebration. Her earlier album works include 'Love and Beauty', and 'Sides, Colors'; in which she incorporated the tones of strings, woodwinds, and electric instrumentation. Roberta's sound is grounded in modern jazz tradition and contemporary classical compositions...combining "infectious swing and adventurous harmonic sense". She has created music with David Liebman, Rufus Reid, Lionel Hampton, saxaphonists Klaus Kugel and Roby Glod, and the BMI/NY Jazz Orchestra, among others. In addition, Roberta was selected as a finalist in the prestigeous Thelonius Monk BMI Composers competition.
