Yesterday, we received Kevin Mongelli's new CD entitled "INSPERATO...Take The Journey". This is Kevin's fourth album. Insperato means "unexpected" in Latin; while the seven tracks collection showcases original, classically oriented piano compositions which features solo piano performance presentation. Kevin Mongelli is a fine composer, whose creations show bold and courageous musicianship infused with variety in composition. The cover artwork may encourage one to contemplate the unimaginable challenges of a journey driven by the tempestuous fury of adventure on the high seas of Life. The CD's artful piano compositions begins boldly, and with passion; with vibrant distinctive phrasing that allows the listener to breathe. The scenic and emotional variety of the compositions easily lend themselves to inclusion in the moving picture artform, due to the obvious and inherent fluidity of construction and clear emotional expression. The journey begins with "Insperato-Take the Journey". This new piece establishes the bold, passionate, full, and sonorous experience of this captivating and exciting collection of solo piano performances. One is guided through the storm...to exit victorious...with head bloody, yet unbowed! Track two, "Beyond The Heart", is a passionate, intense, and fluid piece; that ends with a tone of hope for tomorrow. The third track, "Darker Days" won a Global Music Award recognition accolade. It conveys an artful and accurate representation of the emotional trials, tribulations, and substance often experienced from interacting with the tumultuos vicissitudes of Life's adventure.. Track four, "Rhythm Of The Moment", from an earlier collection entitled ASCENSION, though of lighter presentation force, still displays passionate performance delivery. The ending is great! "Train To Despair" shows fabulous inspiration. From the collection entitled "Fort Lonesome", this tune is replete with images of adventure; while engendering anticipation for tomorrow's successes. Track six, "The Sunrise Waltz", retains the passion of the collection, while allowing the listener to breathe. It offers a lighter and more melodic touch, while exhibiting tones of passionate love. It is a very nice composition. The final track, entitled "Unafraid", is a splendid piano solo performance that does not leave the listener wanting. Like the overall collection, this piece presents a meaningful challenge to symphonic orchestra ensembles and their musical arrangers. Kevin Mongelli's "INSPERATO...Take The Journey" shows great imagination, excellent composition construction, and includes room for creative orchestration. This work blends originality, passionate performance delivery, recognizable motifs for listener familiarity, and a spirited sense of adventure. INSPERATO...Take The Journey; dare to!
