MONTY GUY Friends In Motion FUNKYJENN

Funkyjenn refers to her musicians as "My Magical Band"; that's accurate. Before highlighting the "Magic" group members, Funkyjenn's lead vocal effort is noticeably clean, clear, crisp, and unmistakably delightful. She presents a fresh vocal tone on her driving rock and roll tracks, and adds a smooth, sensitive touch to her ballads. The six tracks CD gave this listener some "tingles"; fans feel that extra ingredient whenever sincere artists perform and deliver. The collection opened with "Shoulda Been My Lover", a uptempo tune which introduced the beautiful 'honky tonk' type piano touch of Carl Byron. In case you missed it because the 'Magic Band' was providing capable support to Funkyjenn's sparkling voice, Carl delivered the touch again on the uptempo track "Nashville, TN". "Boom Boom" is a very fine track which shows this tight unit is serious about its music making efforts. There are two ballads on this CD. "Butterflies Bleed" is a wonderful song; evoking warm memories of traditional, well regarded Nashville R&B song productions. The tune "Outta Sight Outta Mind" introduces a lovely string arrangement touch by Aubrey Richmond; with creative direction being provided by excellent bass player Ted Russellkamp. Funkyjenn ends the listening session on the uptick with the fabulous track entitled "Rock And Roll Voodoo Queen". The band works its 'Magic', with spectacular work by Jamie Douglass on drums...he is outstanding! The guitar work is exciting, varied, and artful; with magic hands and inspirational touches provided by Dan Wistrom and John Schreffler, Jr. The supporting vocals by Gia Ciambotti and Nicole Gordon add form, substance, and presence to the delighful lead vocals of Funkyjenn. The 'Magical Band' created and presented its own material. "Rock & Roll Voodoo Queen" by Funkyjenn shows that there is still tingle, energy, and spice in today's rock and roll performances.
