MONTY GUY Friends In Motion Chandrika Tandon

GRAMMY Music Creators Orchestrate social change. Chandrika Tandon's SOUL MARCH was recorded in both India and the US with over 75 amazing musicians representing world-class musicianship and production. She combines traditional and unusual Indian sounds - sitar, dugdugi, ektara, sarod, esraj, tanpura, tabla, dhol, mridangam, pakhawaj, temple bells - with Western instruments such as piano, electric bass, classical guitar, violins and keyboards, with complex layers of percussion in each piece. Chandrika is a 2011 GRAMMY NOMINEE in the CONTEMPORARY WORLD MUSIC category for her musical work entitled SOUL CALL. In 2009, Chandrika formed a community choir in New York for seniors. She creates ground-breaking combinations of western choral traditions with ancient Indian chants. In other spheres, Chandrika has been an active participant in business, global education and spirituality. She runs a financial advisory firm, serves in leadership and advisory roles at New York University and Yale University. Chandrika just returned from an international concert tour that included showcases in India. Clearly, the 56th GRAMMY AWARDS celebration with its sonorous variety and creative versatility is more than music.
