Friends In Motion: Mark Pinkus

Feeling Right At Home; Mark Pinkus
This new release is like experiencing fine dining at an upscale gourmet restaurant; with its warm ambiance, enchanting decor, and inviting atmosphere...and no reason to rush the dining experience.
The fourteen tracks solo piano work, while complete within itself, allows space for orchestral embellishment.
The track "Feeling Right At Home" allows one to enjoy such comfort; with its warm and full sonic sensation that allows for wistful reminiscing. "Curtains In The Wind" offers a good melodic soundstage; with its expressive movement showing the contemplation of familiar, yet original, classical piano motifs.
"Cloud Meditation" displays a patient delivery; the hallmark of this CD project. "Rejection" invites one to listen. It presents multifaceted musical perspectives as topics for consideration, and leaves the interpretations up to you, the listener. This track allows for a most agreeable conversation with self.
"Passion" suggests a controlled introspective, tolerant, forgiving, and embracing posture. "Telling The Truth" opens with a dramatic tone which suggests suspense, and evolves into the image of a raging storm casting a vulnerable vessel to and fro upon its tempestuous surface...only to settle, with relief, at the dawn's light, upon the gentle waves of calm smooth sailing.
"Le Lit Comme Un Nuage" suggested a late afternoon R&R session testing garden shade trees, while enjoying the peace of nature's extraordinary wonders.
"Shattered" may suggest a desire to perceive, comprehend, and express the passionate beating of an expressive heart; longing to share the secrets of its intimate tempo. "A Love Now Gone" suggests a warm contemplative sensuality; with a noticeably light fingertip touch. The love may be gone, but it is not regretted.
In addition, the CD "Feeling Right At Home" by Mark Pinkus exhibits a good sound engineering contribution. This work will leave a listener satisfied; without feeling satiated.
