NEWS RELEASE 57TH GRAMMY AWARDS® SEASON INCLUDES CLOSE TO 13,000 SUBMISSIONS  Second-Round Entry Process is Now Open Through Aug. 27, 2014. The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards® Airs Live on CBS Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, 8 P.M. ET/PT; #GRAMMYs  SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Aug. 19, 2014) — The awards process for the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards® is well underway with close to 13,000 submissions received during the first-round entry period, which began July 1 and ended July 23. The second (and final) round is now open to registered media companies and Recording Academy members in good standing, and will close on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. PT. The music industry's premier event will take place live on Sunday, Feb, 8, 2015, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Currently, there are 83 GRAMMY® Award Categories in 30 Fields. Changes to this year’s 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards process were announced earlier this year. To submit entries for consideration, media companies must register every year. The deadline this year for media registration is Aug. 20, in order to participate in the entry process for the 57th GRAMMYs. Members may also make submissions for consideration as long as their membership is current as of July 31, 2014. In 2013, a record 22,000-plus submissions were entered for consideration in the 56th GRAMMY Awards process.The eligibility period for the upcoming 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards is Oct. 1, 2013, through Sept. 30, 2014. Screening Meetings for this year's submissions will take place the last two weeks of September.
