53rd GRAMMY® AWARDS:THE FLIP SIDE

So, we made the NARAS DC 53rd GRAMMY® AWARDS Telecast scene. The look was GRAMMY®-licious, the vibe was energetic, the commentary was both enthusiastic and reflective. Folks dressed up, and the scene was vibrant. It was tough to hear the music; but the visuals were good; Jagger worked the whole stage area...as usual; we would've enjoyed hearing Dylan. While the music kept playing, some of us reflected on the prevailing economic climate. On the one hand, we have to face some urgent realities. Still, we need music...the arts...to elevate the spirit and buoy the human condition. Anyway, after the NARAS DC Telecast scene, we stopped by the Latin Palace to see our good friends Senor Enrique and Bob. They each received a 53rd GRAMMY® AWARDS commemorative catalog. You will recall that Senor's open mic night at the Latin Palace stimulated the creation of the song 'Senorita Bonita-Redux', which won a place on a previous GRAMMY® AWARDS Entry List. Realizing that we had a long day on the road, they treated us to dinner; Pollo a la Braza. That's how we culminated the 53rd GRAMMY® AWARDS night. We met new friends, gave away some CDs, got reminded of present day realities and some passing giants in the industry like Solomon Burke, Bobby Hebb, Lena Horne, Jimmy Dean, Harvey Fuqua, Teena Marie, Teddy Pendergrass, Dr. Billy Taylor, and, unfortunately, so many others. Still, we've got to head back to the studio. The music has got to keep playing. We have many more songs to produce before we sleep.
